A friend presented me with an exciting opportunity to create spec work for a client focused on raising awareness about protecting ash trees from the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). EAB larvae tunnel beneath the bark, feeding on the vital parts of the tree that transport water and nutrients, ultimately causing the tree’s decline. For this design, I drew inspiration from the texture of an ash tree trunk, pairing it with a grungy, handwritten font that I further distressed to reflect the raw, organic nature of the message. I’m really proud of how this design captures both the urgency and authenticity of the cause."
